I'm a London-based filmmaker from Istanbul. Since my MFA degree in Film Directing at Academy of Arts University in San Francisco, I have directed commercial films for high-profile brands, including Samsung, Vodafone, Zurich Insurance, AIG and Mercedes-Benz. As I transition into the British film & TV industry, I continue to make commercials at Haciyatmaz Film Productions in Istanbul and have expanded the scale of films I'd like to make to include feature-length films and corporate brand strategy videos.

In my commercial work I enjoy creating a delicate balance between bringing out performances and employing visual storytelling with precise timing and nuance. It's important for me that my videos flow like movies, while connecting the audience with the brand's value and presence. I believe in this way I'm able to harmonise different facets of filmmaking in order to create a more immersive experience. 

 

But don't judge me only by my 12 years experience in commercials! My first short film, ‘Muzaffer Muzaffer!!’ premiered at Tribeca Film Festival, which led to a grant that allowed me to make my second short, ‘Bench’. I was honoured with national and international awards, including Best Director and Best Short Film.
